Reds beat up on Canada 12-2
It was a good night for Reds hitters as they pounded on 18 hits in the Reds win over team Canada.  Shin-Soo Choo
went 3 for 3 and scored twice, exactly what a lead-off hitter is suppose to do.  Ryan Ludwick hit a two out 3-run homer, his first of the spring.  Migeul Olivo had a big night as well with 4 rbis including a 3 run homer.

Mat latos went 3 innings giving up 2 runs on 2 hits (including a homer) and struck out 5.  Jonathan Broxton gave up 1 hit in one inning of work and Sam LeCure was dealing.  He ptiched 2 perfect innings with 4 strikeouts.

Wednesday Night Lights
Last night was the first of 8 night games the Reds are playing this spring, including a pair of games Friday night (split squad day).  Reds manager Dusty Baker likes playing some night games during the spring, "I like a few because it gives you time to do things. When do you have time in Spring Training to go to the bank, go to the laundry, to get a haircut, and maybe sleep in a little bit?" He also said it's good to get used to night baseball, "You get to see the reflection of the ball off the lights."
On the 15th the Reds play a night game and then turn around and play 2 day games on the 16th (split squad). "You don't mind because you're going to have to do that some times during the season.  You try to simulate as many things as you can."

Off Day
Today is the first of 3 off days during the Spring.  The players in the WBC, Joey Votto, Brandon Phillips, and Alfredo Simon will miss today's off day and possible all three but Baker says he will give them off days later in the spring.

Hanigan Update
Catcher Ryan Hanigan has only played in 3 of the Reds 14 games this Spring and lot of that has to do with an Oblique injury.  He is however expected to play a few innings in one of the games Friday night.
