UPDATE: Officer-Involved Shooting in Hamilton

UPDATE: Police say it was 41-year-old Officer Steven McFall who fatally shot a suspect along Forest Park Drive on Saturday afternoon.

A statement from the Hamilton Police department says Officer McFall was confronted by an "armed individual" who has now been identified as 24-year-old Michael Wilson-Salzl. There's no official word on what Wilson-Salzl was allegedly armed with. That statement goes on to say that Officer McFall has been with Hamilton PD for the last 17 years. He's now on administrative leave.

A Butler County grand jury is expected to consider possible criminal charges this coming week, and only after that meeting is held will any more details be released. A news conference is expected next week.
