( Hamilton County ) - A pair of unrelated incidents Monday snarled traffic and left two people dead.
Police in Montgomery say that emergency crews were sent to a crash near the Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway exit to northbound Montgomery Road just before 5am. There, first responders found a car 100 feet into a heavily wooded area nearby. The young man in that car had to be extricated and flown from the scene, but he did not survive. That driver has been identified as 18-year-old Matthew Clark, a student at St Xavier High School. Grief counselors will be available at that school on Tuesday.
Police in Springfield Twp dealt with a deadly vehicle strike on Monday afternoon. Just after 1pm, a woman was crossing at the intersection of Winton Road and Cloverview Ave when she was hit by a pickup truck. The woman, later identified as Yadu Baskota, died from her injuries. There's no word yet if the driver of that truck will face any criminal charges.
