( Morrow, OH ) - A JK excavating worker is dead after a trench collapsed in Morrow Thursday afternoon. The Warren County Coroner has identified the victim as 25-year-old Zachary Hess, of Mason. Police say Hess was caught in the collapse around noon at a construction site in the 5500 block of Anne Marie Dr.
Fire crews say he was buried up to his head when they arrived at the scene, but he was quickly buried completely as the hole caved in further. Police estimate that he was covered by 25-30 feet of dirt.

Hess' body took 11 hours to be recovered. Crews finally were able to dig Hess' body out around 11 PM, December 28.
