( Cleves ) - Mayor Jan Rouse submitted her letter of resignation effective Wednesday night.
A statement from the village on Thursday morning says the change has been planned. Rouse informed village leaders months ago that she's getting married and was looking for a new home and there was a chance she may not be able to stay in Cleves.
Vice Mayor Stephen Myers will serve the remainder of Rouse's term until the end of 2019.
Rouse became mayor in February 2017.
