( Newport, Kentucky ) - A Campbell County judge followed a jury's recommendation Thursday and sentenced Shayna Hubers to life in prison.
It was the second jury to weigh in on punishment for the 27-year-old who shot Ryan Poston to death multiple times in 2012. Following conviction from her original trial in 2015, she was sentenced to 40 years in prison. However, that case was tossed because a man on the jury was a convicted felon.
Earlier this year, Hubers got a retrial and was convicted again. She'll be elligible for parole in about 14 years because of time she's already served.
