( CINCINNATI, OH ) -- A 4-year-old is in critical/serious but stable condition after allegedly using a family member's unsecured pistol to shoot himself in the chest at an apartment in the 900 block of Burton Avenue in North Avondale.
The child's father, other adults, and a few children were also in the same room when the incident occurred, on Friday, December 28. None of them were injured. Emergency crews rushed the child to Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
Now, Tyrekis Mitchem, 20, has been placed under arrest, charged with Child Endangerment, a Third Degree Felony. It was allegedly his 9mm that was used by the child.
