Sheriff: Man and Woman Who Claimed to be Attacked were Fighting Each Other

( Anderson Twp ) - The Hamilton County Sheriff says five people are now facing charges after initial calls about stabbings and gunfire early Monday morning.

Just before 4:30am, deputies were called about reports that two people stabbed and shots were fired at a home on Beacon St near Salem. There, they found 30-year-old John Taylor Jr (pictured) and 19-year-old Taylor Deitsch who said there was a fight in the home involving a property dispute. They were taken to the hospital, and SWAT was ultimately called in to secure the area. 41-Year-Old Noel Hicks, the property owner, was found hiding inside. She was arrested.

However, as deputies continued to investigate, they say the story about a person stabbing Taylor and Deitsch was a lie, and that Taylor stabbed Deitsch as part of what the sheriff calls "a drug fueled domestic dispute." He says the two were lying to keep Taylor out of jail.

In all, five people were arrested:

  • John Taylor Jr - felonious assault, kidnapping, obstruction
  • Taylor Deitsch - obstruction
  • Noel Hicks - obstruction
  • Jeremy Mason - unrelated drug warrants
  • Walter Turner - unrelated drug and traffic warrants

Investigators believe the home and the house next door--both owned by Hicks--are drug houses.
