(Warren County) - Warren County Prosecutor David Forshnell is charging a former Springboro schools gym teacher with 36 counts of gross sexual imposition for acts involving first grade girls.
Forshnell says 25-year-old John Austin Hopkins is caught on camera touching more than 88 girls at school all in a period of three months. The students allegedly loved him as a teacher because of the attention he showed them and often competed for his attention. The prosecutor's office started to investigate Hopkins after a parent made a complaint.
Hopkins was working at Clearcreek Elementary and Springboro Intermediate at the time of incidents which were caught on surveillance video between December 2018 and March 2019.
He was taken into custody Monday and an arraignment date hasn't been set.
