Ohio Lawmakers Introduce Bipartisan Gun Reform Legislation

( Columbus,OH ) - On Monday, Senators Cecil Thomas (D) and Peggy Lehner (R) announced a reintroduction of two gun reform bills.

One bill was designed to emulate the Senate Bill 63 by requiring background checks to all, lawmakers have also proposed raising the minimum age limit to purchase a fire arm to 21. Currently the legal age to purchase a handgun is 21 years old while being 18 allows you to purchase a long gun.

While Cecil Thomas has his doubts, he still remains optimistic, "The Dayton tragedy has brought us all closer together and through our sorrow, we are determined to curb senseless gun violence."

Thomas believes that implementing these two changes will make it harder for gun to land in the wrong hands.
