Northern Kentucky Parks Receive $500,000 Grant For Upgrades

(Covington, KY) -- A half-million dollars in upgrades are coming to Northern Kentucky parks.

Governor Andy Beshear and the Department of for Local Government Commissioner Dennis Keene announced the funds today.

The City of Bromley is receiving a $75,000 Land and Water Conservation Fund grant. Officials say they'll use the money to build a shelter, restroom and concession area at the Bromley Park.

In Covington $81,755 will be used for the second phase of the three-part Barb Cook Park Redevelopment Project. The city will update basketball courts, shelters, soccer goals, picnic tables, water fountains and more with the funds.

Dayton, Kentucky will use $91,043 to revamp the Sargent Park Trail, and add more than 2-miles of new trails, benches and a drinking fountain.

A $250,000 grant will be used in Wilder to construct the Frederick's Landing Amphitheater.
