Todd Portune Visitation/Funeral Downtown

( Cincinnati ) - Remembering Todd Portune on Monday.

Thousands of colleagues along with friends, family, and citizens turned out at the Duke Energy Convention Center to honor the life of the former Hamilton County Commissioner. Portune passed away January 25 at the age of 61. He stepped down from his position at the end of 2019 to focus on a new battle with cancer.

Portune served as Hamilton County Commissioner since 2000 with a previous stint on Cincinnati City Council. Portune's time in public service totaled 30 years in a career marked with cooperation.

"You know when you're walking through history. This is an historic time," said Cincinnati Vice Mayor Chris Smitherman.

Former Forest Park Councilwoman Regina Collins says Todd Portune was known for handing out pearls of wisdom,"he made sure that we understood the gravity of public service, and what that meant to the people we served," she said.

The public visitation runs from 10am to noon with a funeral service immediately following.

Todd Portune will be laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery.

Those wishing to make donations can do so with the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati.
