Sheriff: Middletown Police Officer Shot after Chase

( Turtle Creek Twp ) - Multiple police departments, sheriff's deputies, and Ohio State Troopers were involved in a chase Monday afternoon that ended with two people shot, one of them a Middletown Police officer.

Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones (pictured above) says the pursuit of someone suspected in a homicide in Hamilton began in Middletown. The chase ended in Warren County's Turtle Creek Twp when the suspect stopped in the front yard of a home along Mason-Montgomery Road. That's when the suspect started firing, hitting Officer Denny Jordan (pictured below) in the arm with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was shot multiple times by police, and he was taken to the hospital.

No details have been released, yet, about the suspect or the homicide he's believed to be involved in. The suspect is expected to survive.
