( Cincinnati ) - Reds Opening Day is April 1 versus the St Louis Cardinals, and Ohio Gov Mike DeWine on Thursday announced plans for sports and entertainment events this spring to have 25% indoor capacity and 30% outdoor capacity.
The governor says we're on a bridge back to normal life right now, "and the bridge is really built on two things: one is vaccinations and the other... is to continue to wear masks." Gov DeWine said that in his latest briefing on the state's response to coronavirus.
The Reds have released a statement saying they've taken input from state and local leaders and team partners like TriHealth and St Elizabeth Healthcare in re-imagining the fan experience with safety in mind. In addition to mandatory mask wearing and socially-distanced, 6-person pod-style seating, look for digital tickets, cash-less concessions, a new ban on backpacks, and more.
The team says season ticket holders have been contacted about re-seating, and once that's figured out, an announcement will be made about single game tickets for the general public.
