Federal Judge Refuses to Throw Out Sittenfeld Case

(Cincinnati, OH) - A federal judge Tuesday ruled that the corruption case against suspended Cincinnati city councilman P.G. Sittenfeld can move forward.

Sittenfeld was arrested last November, accused of funneling money from developers into a political action committee in exchange for favorable votes on council. Sittenfeld's legal team was seeking to have the case thrown out by arguing that he was accepting campaign donations and not running a pay-to-play scandal. U.S. District Court judge Douglas Cole didn't agree and the case is heading to trial.

Sittenfeld is facing 20 years in prison if convicted.
