Prosecutor: Convicted Former Officer Knew He was HIV-Positive

( Loveland ) - A tragic update to a story from earlier this year.

The Hamilton County Prosecutor says former Loveland police officer Anthony Pecord is facing a new charge of felonious assault. He pleaded guilty last month to multiple counts of gross sexual imposition and was sentenced to four years in prison for crimes that allegedly happened this past January.

Now investigators say he knew he was HIV-positive at the time. If convicted, he faces the possibility of eight more years in prison.

A statement from the prosecutor says the victim was not aware of Pecord's HIV status and did not consent to the sexual conduct with the defendant.

Anyone who had sexual contact with Pecord since 2016 is asked to contact Hamilton County Sheriff's deputies.
